Heather Lattimer, EdD is the Dean of the Connie L. Lurie College of Education at San Jose State University. Formerly she was a professor in the School of Leadership and Education Sciences at the University of San Diego and served as the executive director of the Jacobs Institute for Innovation in Education, an applied research institute within USD focused on innovation and equity in schools. While at USD she served as program coordinator, department chair, and associate dean. Her work focuses on strengthening equity and access in K16 education. A former middle and high school teacher, Dr. Lattimer has published and presented widely for both professional and academic audiences. Her research interests include disciplinary literacy, teacher education, international education, and the experiences of first generation college students. Dr. Lattimer holds earned degrees from Harvard College, Stanford University, and the University of California, San Diego.
