Designing Business for Shared Prosperity: A Keynote Address

Paula Cordeiro

In March 2026, I delivered the keynote address at the Business for Good Summit in San Diego. The talk explored a question that has become central to my research, teaching, and writing:

What if the greatest opportunity for innovation isn’t creating new businesses—but redesigning how businesses themselves are structured?

Too often, we focus on the intentions of entrepreneurs while paying less attention to the architecture of enterprise: who owns, who decides, who benefits, how capital is structured, and what enables an organization’s purpose to endure. These design choices profoundly shape whether businesses create broadly shared prosperity or concentrate wealth and power.

Many of the ideas introduced in this keynote have since evolved into the Enterprise Design framework, which forms the foundation of my current book project.

I hope you enjoy the presentation and invite you to join the conversation.
