Dr. Ian Martin is an associate professor and director of the Counseling Program at the University of San Diego. Ian teaches classes in school counseling and career development. Prior to coming to USD, he was a school counselor at the elementary and middle school levels. Ian completed his doctorate at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst and is a Center Fellow for the Ronald H. Fredrickson Center for School Counseling Outcome Research and Evaluation. Ian’s main areas of research are program development and program evaluation within schools and increasingly international school-based counseling and mental health programs. He is a founding member of the International Society for Policy, Research, and Evaluation of School-based Counseling with nearly four hundred members from over thirty countries.
